Not a typical Mom’s Day card, but she’s not a typical mom! Note Milo with balls spelling “Mother’s” and Frank in his Prius.
So here’s the cleaned up sketch. Brett asked me to remove the keyboard, since the focus of this project is on the bleeps and bloops of the modified toys and not “real” synths. Other details that were added from the first sketch include the kick drum pedal smashing thru the kick drum along with the foot, and the hand twiddling the mixer knobs.
I’m working on the cover for a record by my pals Dan and Brett, collectively known as Seed AI. They’re a two-piece project: Dan plays the drum kit and Brett plays a veritable battery of customized instruments, including bent Gameboys and an old Commodore 64, among other things. This is a really fun project, combining two of the things I most enjoy drawing: mechanical things with lots of buttons and wires, and fleshy appendages. Over the next few days I’ll post the image in varying stages of completion. Here is the first sketch I made:
