Well, not really. I’ve been frantically busy…but most of it has been work I’m getting little or no $ for. Anyway, I HAVE been lazy when it comes to this blog, and since finishing the work for my show with Julie, I haven’t made any more garbage bag paintings. Hopefully I will soon. In the meantime, here’s another illustration from Elliot & The Goblin War:

Lulu, RIP
This past weekend we had to put our beloved kitty, Lulu, down. She hadn’t eaten or drank anything for a week, and after blood tests and X-rays were inconclusive, the only remaining options were very expensive and not even guaranteed of curing her. We are very sad. She was a good sweet cat and not even four years old yet. She was just starting to turn into a cuddly lap cat. Things hadn’t been easy for her, going from being an “only child” to having all the attention that used to be bestowed on her going to a shrieking hairless “kitten” that rapidly outstripped her in size, strength and intelligence. It must have been terrifying for her, and disheartening. Despite that, she was very tolerant of Milo for the most part. I hope she can forgive us for our shortcomings as “parents”, and that she is happy wherever she is. Goodbye, Lulu.

Waste of Time XVII (Associated)
This one is mostly bathroom garbage. You can see the toilet paper tube on the right (hmmm, that should have been recycled). Click here to see the eBay auction. Last week’s painting is also still available.

Seed pod
It’s that time of year when the weary old tree in front of our house sprinkles our front yard with thousands of hopeful little tree-sperm. I drew this while Milo frolicked in the dirt.

New garbage bag painting: Waste of Time XVI
This is an original oil painting, number 15 in a series of works that depict and document my household waste. It is both a way of acknowledging my culpability in the destruction of our environment, and a symbolic act of recycling. And, should you win the auction, it would look lovely on your wall.
