It is with much chagrin that I have to announce that there will be no new drawings this week. The tidal wave of life has overtaken me…there is just too much to do. So I’ll be back next week with new stuff. See you then…

Detroit Wins the Superbowl!
Ok, here’s the explanation: Every year I have this little contest with Frank, my step-dad. I won’t go into the rules, but basically what you need to know is that it involves prognosticating the outcome of the NFL season, and that almost every year he wins. Fortunately we don’t bet money, but instead each year the “prize” is a word somehow related to football that we interpret creatively in the giving of the prize. Last year the prize was “fantasy”, and so here is my illustration of Frank’s fantasy (note that he’s a Detroit boy and a long-suffering Lions fan):

Unhappy Couple
Several friends of mine are going through the painful process of separation. It is very sad and my heart goes out to them…and their kids.

KillJoy
I had to take a couple days off to go to my grandmother’s funeral (see below). It was great to see my folks and all my cousins from that side of my family. Everybody’s getting wrinkly, myself included. We’re all hopeful that we have inherited some of grandma Jean’s longevity so that we can be wrinkly for a long time.
This drawing was started last weekend and has nothing to do with my grandmother or my family.

Someday I will apologize for passing along to him my oversized, dual-lobed cranium.
