I had the privilege of attending the Highlights Illustrators Party last weekend in Honesdale, PA. It was a great opportunity to meet the editors and art directors of the magazine along with many, many talented and friendly artists and their families. We were all asked to fill out a questionnaire in relation to the theme of the annual costume party. This year’s theme was superheroes. Below is my questionnaire. Stay tuned for costume pics!

I’m very excited to be going to MOCCAfest this Sunday. In addition to hopefully seeing lots of folks I know and probably spending too much money, I will be showing around the beginnings of what hopefully will be my first graphic novel. It’s called WHATZIT and its going to be funny, gross, disturbing, and hopefully lots of fun. There will be lots more posts about this as I proceed, but I’m starting off with just a little teaser of the logo. More to come soon….

In the process of redoing my website, I went back and revisited some old stuff that needed sprucing up to be in keeping with what I’ve learned since then…Here is a revamping of a poster I did for CMJ back in the day:

Now that Milo is addicted to Dan Zanes & Fred Garbo DVD’s, it’s much easier to draw him. He actually sits still for extended periods! On mornings that Julie needs to sleep in, Milo and I eat poached eggs and watch DVD’s.Note the vacant stare. Also note the slumping posture, clearly inherited from his dad. Sorry, kid.

Elliot & The Goblin Wars is a cute and funny book, a light-hearted but somewhat gruesome adventure written by Jennifer Nielsen and illustrated by yours truly.
