Just because I was on vacation didn’t mean that my neuroses were…

Milo “helped” me with this one:

I have this amazing book called The World of Ornament that my mom gave me. She has a copy too, and while at her house I looked at it a lot. This improvised doodle has many elements lifted from the book.

Remember when you were in school and you would draw the names of your favorite bands all over your notebook? Well, I couldn’t sleep last night but I also couldn’t will myself to work on any of the multitude of things I should have been working on…so I regressed to my adolescence and made a fanboy doodle. Probably not many of the same names I would have put in when I was 15, but some are the same, certainly. Size and boldness generally reflects importance, but not entirely consistently. Also, I ran out of room or just plain forgot a lot of names. It was late, gimme a break.

This is a color version of a drawing I did about a year ago. I’m looking into getting Giclee  prints made of this and several other similar pieces.

Would anyone out there be interested in something like this?

I had to take a couple days off to go to my grandmother’s funeral (see below). It was great to see my folks and all my cousins from that side of my family. Everybody’s getting wrinkly, myself included. We’re all hopeful that we have inherited some of grandma Jean’s longevity so that we can be wrinkly for a long time.

This drawing was started last weekend and has nothing to do with my grandmother or my family.
