Julie, Milo and I just got back to West Virginia from a fun and frantic week in New York. One of the main reasons for our trip was the joyful occasion of Hannah & Kyle’s wedding shower. My friend Giuliana, who was helping to organize the event, had asked me to make a picture for the party, and I said “Of Course!” and then of course I completely forgot about it…until three days before the shower when she asked me, “So…how’s the picture going?”. To which I replied with a blank stare, “what picture?”. I was staying at a friends house and did not have any of my usual supplies, particularly my Cintiq which I have become completely dependent on. So I had to draw a bunch of things I’m not accustomed to drawing (chickens, sailboats, charicatures), I had to do it on paper which meant no digital fixing, and I had to do it in one night. Considering the circumstances I’m rather proud of the results. My biggest regret is that I didn’t have a current picture of Kyle sporting his super-awesome manly beard. Picture was taken with my iphone in low light, so it’s not a great reproduction.

Milo watching TV
Now that Milo is addicted to Dan Zanes & Fred Garbo DVD’s, it’s much easier to draw him. He actually sits still for extended periods! On mornings that Julie needs to sleep in, Milo and I eat poached eggs and watch DVD’s.Note the vacant stare. Also note the slumping posture, clearly inherited from his dad. Sorry, kid.
